PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is meant to improve your scuba diving skills after completing the PADI Open Water Diver course. This course includes 5 dives, with Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive being the 2 mandatory ones. You can choose the other 3 according to your preference such as Wreck, Boat, Naturalist, Underwater, Drift and many more!
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to vastly expand your range of dive sites and improve your overall scuba diving skills and confidence underwater. Upon the completion of this course you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters/100 feet.
You will also learn the basics of underwater navigation and choose 3 Adventure Dives based on your interests, such as Digital Underwater Photography or Night Diving.
This certification includes 5 Adventure Dives, including the 2 mandatory Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, and your choice of 3 of the following:
• Aware Fish ID
• Digital Underwater Photographer *
• Drift Diver
• Enriched Air Diver
• Multilevel and Computer Diver
• Night Diver (Liveaboard Only)
• Peak Performance Buoyancy
• Search and Recovery Diver
• Underwater Naturalist
There will be a Knowledge Review for each Adventure Dive. The Peak Performance Buoyancy dive is strongly recommended as you will get to see a significant improvement in your comfort and control underwater.
You will receive your PADI Advanced Open Water certification card, which gives you access to wider diving opportunities around the globe. With a depth range of 30 meters/100 feet and newly learned skills to cope with various underwater challenges you will be able to explore many dive sites that you won’t be able to do with a PADI Open Water Diver certification.
PADI Open Water Diver certification (or the equivalent from other organizations). PADI Jr Open Water Divers may do Adventure Dives up to the Jr Adventure Diver certification. Children aged 12 to 14 can get a Jr Advanced Open Water certification, with a maximum depth of 21 meters/70 feet.
The full PADI Advanced Open Water typically take 2 days. If you’re short in time, it can also be completed in a single day. You can also opt for single Adventure Dives that will be credited to your PADI Advanced Open Water certification, at a cost of 900.000 IDR each or take the 1-day PADI Adventure Diver Course which includes 3 Adventure Dives.
PADI Advanced Open Water Divers may sign up for any PADI Specialty Course including the the PADI Deep Diver Specialty or take the PADI Rescue Diver Course right away.
Jr Advanced Open Water Divers may sign up for some specialty courses. There is also a PADI Jr Rescue Diver Course for children aged 12+. Any of the PADI Adventure Dives that you do during the course can also be credited to the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
